Propose Or Tzedek's Spring Campaign!
Or Tzedek's Spring Campaign is up to you (yes, YOU!). We want you to create Or Tzedek's social justice action plan and see through the campaign from its inception to its execution.
Here's the deal:
The campaign will take place from February – May 2012 (approximately 4 months). The general structure for your campaign should be one to three meetings, programs or workshops with your community partners, leading up to a major action or production ('zine, podcast, book, play etc). We will pick 1-2 proposals to focus on and workshop during the Winter Leadership Retreat. Your Social Justice Action Plan needs to be submitted by December 1, 2012. When you are ready, submit your proposal below!
Who can submit?
Any Chicagoland high school student can submit a proposal, even if you have not done Or Tzedek's summer sessions. You can submit individually or as a group, club, or organization. Be prepared (and excited!) to take a leadership role in your proposed campaign.

Getting started:
Available Resources:
Elements to Consider:
- Pick a social justice issue that’s important to you. Define it. What is the issue? Why is it important?
- Who is already engaged in working on this issue? Which organizations could be your community partners?
- Write down your goal(s). Be realistic and specific given your resources and time commitments.
- Think about your strategies. Are you doing a protest, a letter-writing campaign, a seder, or a flash mob? Think creatively about which strategies would help you achieve your goals.
- What are the challenges to your campaign? How will you work through them?
- Brainstorm about your outreach. How do you get the word out? How will you engage other teens?
- Ask yourself: what is the Jewish component to your campaign?
