Or Tzedek Teen Leads Charge for Interfaith Dialogue
Or Tzedek Teen Leader, Benjamin Jacobi was selected as one of only ten winners of the 2010 Jewish Federation Teen Leadership Awards. Throughout the year, Ben and the other winners will participate in a mini-mission to learn more about the Jewish community, will meet with community lay and professional leaders, will form a Teen Leadership Committee that will help to plan and recruit for community-wide events, and will serve as ambassadors to the Jewish teen community in their high schools, congregations, and beyond. Ben is the second Or Tzedek Teen Leader to win this award: Sam won it in 2008!
Benjamin also joined Imagine Englewood If teen leader Anjelica on stage at the Interfaith Youth Core’s “One Chicago, One Nation” program launch in January at the Chicago Cultural Center. They talked about working together with other teens on raising awareness about lead contamination in Chicago’s Englewood community.
